Great part of coastal nsw. Quiet and restful with many local places and restaurants to visit. We had relations living close by and have visited the area for the past twenty years. Port Macquarie is also close if you want to do some extra shopping.

Beautiful beach and river. Plenty of cafes and resturants. Local coles and woolies, and also local seafood outlets if you want to cook for yourself. A small cinema for a rainy day opption and plenty of surrounding interest for day trips. North Haven can be what you want it to be, it has it all.

The fishing is good. The people are friendly. North Haven and Laurieton have everything one needs for a short or long stay. The club serves great meals and the numerous coffee shops are great. We have returned many times and love it.

The hosts are fabulous people. Very welcoming and always have time to ask how things are going. The units are spotless and the amenities are great. Good layout with comfortable beds and lounges. Undercover parking too. The position is perfect for my dad and I but also terrific for families as there is a netted off section of the river for swimming just across the road. The water is fairly shallow with a gentle slope to deeper water that has no current. Beautiful walks and views across the road too. There is a bakery, chemist, restaurant ,etc, just meters away and a bowling club nearby. A wonderful place to stay.

We arrived at North Haven during very heavy rain after a long journey and despite having an existing booking at an Italian restaurant in nearby Laurieton we opted to stay in North Haven and find a restaurant there because of the very heavy rain but there was nothing open it being Sunday night. However the very helpful manager of the Water Havens Motel where we stayed suggested the local bowling club which was very near to our motel and we enjoyed a good meal there. There were some good cafes in town to have breakfast. On the advice of a friend we drove 10 minutes to the top of the North mountain of the Three Brothers mountains overlooking North Haven and were rewarded by an absolutely superb view of the area - highly recommend doing this.

Beautiful small town with many activities to relax. Plenty of beaches, rivers, lakes, lagoons, and mountains. We did kayaking through Dunbogan Boatshed, which was a lovely experience (just don't forget to put sunscreen all over!). Particularly love the lookout at North Brother Mountain. Unreal view from there. Luckily we beat the thick fog/mist that settled about 15mins after we were there and didn't seem to budge even until the next day. Make sure you time it right! Also nice little cafes around with friendly people! Went to Brewhaven a couple times and they don't disappoint!
